Moore recognized with distinguished service award (MARIETTA, Ohio) – John Moore, industrial programs coordinator at the Washington County Career Center – Adult Technical Training was recognized at the Ohio Association of Career and Technical Education conference with the Distinguished Service Award.
The award is presented by the PACE (Postsecondary Adult Career Education) division to recognize individuals who have made outstanding contributions to improvement, promotion, development and progress of career and technical education.
Moore was hired by WCCC in 1999 to design and build industrial lab spaces for the Adult Technical Training Instrumentation and Electricity Technician, Industrial Maintenance Mechanic, Chemical Operator and HVAC programs. After lab completion he took on the coordination of the programs and through his leadership the programs are now known throughout the MOV as a pipeline for highly skilled industrial workers. He has continued to develop strong relationships with business and industry. This provides him with outstanding business leadership and guidance on the program advisory committees.
