Discover Days - Medical Careers

Have you thought about going into a medical career field, but thought you needed 2-4 years of college? You don't!

Does a career as a Certified Medical Assistant, Medical Biller/Coder, Phlebotomist, STNA/Patient Care Technician or Surgical Technologist not seem attainable? Let us show you how it can be!


If you are a high school student you are invited to join us on Friday, Dec. 3, and learn how to get started.

Activities for the day will include:

  • Interactive tours to the medical training programs.  

    • Surgical Technologist Lab / Simulated Operating Room​

    • Medical Assistant Lab

    • Phlebotomy

    • Medical Billing & Coding

    • State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA)

    • Apollo Patient Simulator

    • Anatomage Table

  • Meet with area employers including:

    • Coplin Health Systems​

    • Harmar Place Rehabilitation & Extended Care

    • Memorial Health System

    • Pars Neurosurgery & Primary Care

    • Washington County Home

    • WVU Medicine - Camden Clark Medical Center

  • Participate in hands-on medical activities

  • Learn about scholarships and financial aid opportunities

High School Students - This day can be used as an excused absence for a post-secondary / college visit, talk with your guidance counselor about what you will need!
