Power Plant Technology

powerplantThe Power Plant Technology Program is designed to eliminate the anticipated shortage for future skilled power generation employees. This training was developed through a partnership between Washington County Career Center Adult Technical Training, American Electrical Power (AEP) Beverly Plant, Allegheny Energy Pleasants Station, and American Municipal Power (AMP) Marietta Plant. Articulation agreements with local community colleges and universities are being developed for a two-year Associate of Applied Science in Technical Studies degree . Training Areas To Be Covered:

 

Power Plant Technology Evening Program: Starting Fall Quarter
Start Date:  April 4, 2011 End Date:  March 28, 2012
Start Time: 5:30 pm End Time: 9:30 pm
Days: Monday through Thursday Tuition: $6000
Optional Internships
Cost: $2000    
Internships will be a total of 480 hours which are to be completed within one year of class completion. The intern will be subject to all the rules and regulations of the company and will be under the direction of a company employee. This is a non-paying internship. The internship will add to the "hands-on" experience already offered by The Career Center - Adult Technical Training. The student will perform duties determined by the supervisor or manager of the department to which they are assigned relating to the course curriculum.

**In Compliance with OSHA standards, The Career Center will require students to wear steel toe shoes and safety glasses in our trade and industrial classes. These items are not provided by the school.
